Title: The Latest Research for Early Literacy and Language Learning: Current Recommendations for Assessment and Instruction
Description: A powerful connection exists between the way children learn to talk, their language experiences, and the way they learn to read and write. This one-day training will highlight the current research on early literacy learning skills and instructional strategies in preschool and kindergarten that provide the foundation for the next steps of early reading and writing. You will gain a deeper understanding of the early literacy processes in oral language, phonological awareness, and print knowledge and take away key strategies that make an important difference for the young children in your care.
Prerequisites: Participants should bring a children's book that will be used for instruction in the following weeks.
