Base Camp
February 15-17
Fredericksburg, Texas
One of the most important things that you can do to prepare for your upcoming cycling or triathlon season is to establish a nice base of mileage before getting into the higher intensity pace of racing. Base Camp is an opportunity to validate the work you have done, or kick off your more serious training for races and events later in the year.
This weekend camp will focus on some longer mileage and a fair share of hills. Accumulating and absorbing a healthy chunk of bike volume will raise your cycling (and overall) fitness to a higher level, with a broader foundation of support for bigger things. The outstanding routes will include some of your favorite roads and some new roads as well.
This will be another great base camp, so get your calendars marked and accommodations completed.
Day 1 Saturday, February 15th
We will have rides from approximately 35-40 to 80+ miles
Day 2 Sunday, February 16th
We will have rides from approximately 35-40 to 80+ miles
Day 3 Monday, February 197th
We will have rides of approximately 25 and 45 miles.
There will also be an optional Friday ride. This ride will be 35-45 miles and not have sag support.
The camp headquarters will be at the Windcrest Inn and Suites, 908 South Adams. All rides will start and finish here. There are several lodging options along this stretch of Hwy 16, and you can ride here from anywhere in town.
