2025 Outstanding Student Society Application


The Outstanding Student Society Award recognizes one student society for outstanding service to the profession in the areas of public education and advocacy; public service and outreach; promotion of diversity; and professional involvement.

Application Tips:

  • The deadline for completed applications, with all supporting documentation, is 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, February 10, 2025. Applications and supporting materials received after this date will not be considered.
  • Be as complete as possible when answering the questions below.
  • Ensure all dates, organization names, committee titles, etc. are clearly and accurately stated.
  • Only electronic applications and supporting documentation will be accepted.
  • All materials and supporting documentation must be uploaded and submitted using the form below. 
  • No application will be considered complete at time of submission without all supporting documentation.
  • All submitted documents must be in PDF format. To convert a Word document to a PDF, follow the instructions found here

Applicant Information

The student society representative who submits this application will serve as the primary point of contact with AAPA through the remainder of the Awards process. Please include your contact information below, along with contact information for your society's faculty advisor.

PowerPoint Presentation

Submit a PowerPoint Presentation of your PA program's events for last year (January-December 2024) in the categories specified below. Do not include events that fall outside of that timeframe. Submit a maximum of 12 events (up to three for each category). Presentations may include only one slide per event. Programs may not reuse presentations from previous years. 
 
Presentations must be structured in this format:
  • Slide 1: Name of PA program including campus/city of program
  • Slide 2: Table of contents. List of all events being submitted in the presentation, including category
  • Slide 3+: One slide for each event should include:
    • Slide Title: Name of Event and Category
      • Public education and advocacy of profession
      • Public service and outreach
      • Promotion of diversity
      • Professional involvement
    • Photo(s) from Event
      • Photo caption(s) – 1 sentence summary per photo
    • Notes Section of PowerPoint
      • Date of event
      • Impact of the event (event description and impact/influence of event) – 1 paragraph or less
*To create the best version of the PDF from a PowerPoint presentation, select the print option, print with notes pages to PDF, then save the file.


The deadline for all completed applications is 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, February 10, 2025. Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision in March 2025. If you have any questions about the awards or the process, please contact awards@aapa.org.
