Commission on Government Relations and Practice Advancement Application

AAPA is seeking PAs to serve on the Commission on Government Relations & Practice Advancement for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2024. The deadline to apply is Sunday, June 2, 2024.

The Commission on Government Relations & Practice Advancement is charged with advising AAPA staff on the impact of new healthcare models and value-based healthcare delivery on PAs, identifying current and/or emerging barriers to practice and discussing options for their elimination, and identifying leadership opportunities for PAs that require federal or state legislative or regulatory changes to achieve. The commission will conduct its work via monthly conference calls and via email. The commission is especially busy through March due to bylaws/policy review leading up to the annual House of Delegates meeting. It is a plus if an applicant has served on a CO legislative affairs or similar committee.

Please note that in accordance with AAPA Policy BA 2400.3.1.0, commission members who are PAs must also be a member of a constituent organization.
