AAPA/PAF All of Us Student Research Scholar Program

About the Program

AAPA and the PA Foundation are pleased to announce a new Student Research Scholars program supported by the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) All of Us Research Program.   

Awardees will be expected to produce high-quality research in collaboration with AAPA/PAF and will use data from the All of Us Research Program and Researcher Workbench. The awardees may propose their own research topic or develop one with guidance from AAPA/PAF.  

Submission Deadlines 

Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2024, at 11:59 pm PST. Please send all questions to jweston@aapa.org, and include AoU Research Scholars in the subject. 

Eligibility  

Awardees must: 

  • Be enrolled in an accredited PA or DMSc program at the time of application 
  • Have a strong interest in conducting research 

Deliverables & Expectations 

  • Work with AAPA/PAF to register as a researcher on the All of Us Researcher Workbench. Preference will go to applicants whose academic institution already has a Data Use and Registration Agreement (DURA) in place with the All of Us Research Program. Find out if yours does here 
  • Complete research and write-up by December 15, 2024. AAPA/PAF will provide analytical support and guidance through cohort-style mentoring and one-on-one assistance as needed.  
  • Develop a poster for presentation at AAPA 2025 in Denver, CO. Registration and travel will be reimbursed. 
  • Provide a brief abstract of final research for dissemination on aapa.org.
