2025 Publishing Award Application


This award recognizes a PA who published an exceptionally written clinical or research article during the prior calendar year. The article should provide practical application to the PA profession/practice, whether clinical, professional or educational, and enhance the knowledge base of or about the PA profession.

Application Tips:

  • The deadline for completed applications, with all supporting documentation, is 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, February 10, 2025. Applications and supporting materials received after this date will not be considered.
  • Be as complete as possible when answering the questions below.
  • Ensure all dates, organization names, committee titles, etc. are clearly and accurately stated.
  • Only electronic applications and supporting documentation will be accepted.
  • All materials and supporting documentation must be uploaded and submitted using the form below. 
  • No application will be considered complete at time of submission without all supporting documentation.
  • All submitted documents must be in PDF format. To convert a Word document to a PDF, follow the instructions found here

Publishing Award Eligibilty:

  • Applicant must be a current AAPA member in good standing and must be the primary author of the article. The applicant does not have to be the sole author, but an explanation of the roles of all authors may be requested. Based on the information submitted, AAPA staff advisor to the Awards Committee will determine if the PA is the primary author. 
  • Applicant may not be a current AAPA Board member or staff, or staff of an AAPA constituent organization at the time of nomination or award.
  • Articles must have been published during the prior calendar year (January-December 2024). 
  • The term "article" for the purpose of this award means a peer-reviewed clinical or research article. Case reports and editorials are not eligible. 
  • Only one article is accepted for consideration per author. If multiple submissions are received (e.g. from multiple sources), AAPA's staff advisor to the Awards Committee will attempt to clarify the intended submission with the author. 
  • Publishers may submit entries. However, it is the responsibility of the publisher to notify the authors that the entries were submitted. 
  • Articles must be relevant to the goals of the PA profession, whether the article addresses clinical, professional, or educational topics.
